Make an OT Appointment, if Your Child Has Problems Mastering His/Her Daily Life.
It is generally known that difficulties in occupational performance and in mastering daily life are part of developmental disorders such as genetic syndromes, autism, or multiple handicaps and in the context of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, or brain trauma.
Much less known is that there are also hidden disorders - often called minimal brain dysfunctions - that lead to difficulties in daily activities. Minimal brain dysfunction frequently causes sensory integration disorders.
